The CMA CGM Group, a leading worldwide shipping and logistics group, celebrated its success as the first carrier to operate 12 block trains per week in Thailand. With 12 weekly services connecting ICD Lat Krabang to Laem Chabang Port, CMA CGM’s customers can connect to the company’s vast global network, including services from its affiliate companies.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Benoit de Quillacq, Managing Director CMA CGM Thailand, and the executive team; Mr. Suwit Peeraphet, Managing Director along with the management team from Tiffa ICD Co., Ltd., and Mr. Teerawat Owatsuwan, Head of Eastern Container Market Division, The State Railway of Thailand.

CMA CGM currently serves 12 weekly trains between ICD Lat Krabang to Laem Chabang Port; each can accommodate up to 72 TEUs of containers. The service, which is in line with CMA CGM’s mission to fight global warming, drastically decreases the use of semi-trailer trucks and their fuel consumption. Exporters can benefit from reliable and timely delivery, and at the same time, manufacturers around the Lat Krabang area can have their import containers delivered to their neighbourhood quickly.

With this block train service, CMA CGM Thailand’s customers can ensure that they will have sufficient cargo space onboard and a better flow of land transportation between ICD Lat Krabang to Laem Chabang Port for both import and export activities.
